Christmas Home & Pet Safety Planner

Sale price  $8.95 Regular price $16.95

December fills a house with open flames, rich food at dog height, plants that poison cats, cords everywhere, and toddlers and grandparents sleeping in rooms that were never checked for them. Nobody plans that part. This kit is the plan: audit the rooms, guard the pets, prep for the visitors, price the fixes.

Every other planner in this store runs a December job — gifts, dinner, cards, decorations, photographs, displays. None of them walks the house asking the safety questions. This one does, in the order the risks actually arrive.

What's inside

  • Safety Audit by Room spreadsheet — every room walked with a risk level, a checked flag, an issue flag and a fix status that names what is still open (worked sample: 12 checks, 10 completed — 83.3% — 6 issues found, 3 fixes still needed, and of 7 high-risk checks exactly 2 still open and named).
  • Pet Hazard Tracker — the December hazards a pet actually meets (chocolate, tinsel, toxic plants, tree water, party-night doors), each marked present or not and guarded or not, so "at risk" is a count, not a feeling (worked sample: 10 hazards, 8 present, 5 safeguarded, 3 still at risk — all 3 of them high-risk).
  • Guest & Child Visit Safety tracker — safety prep per visitor (outlet covers, stair gate, night-lights, allergy separation), needed vs. done with costs (worked sample: 12 tasks, 11 needed, 7 done — 63.6% — $47.96 spent, 4 child-safety tasks on the list).
  • Fix List & Season Totals — every issue turned into a priced line (quantity × unit cost calculates itself) plus the season's safety position pulled live from the other three sheets (worked sample: 8 items, 9 total quantity, $127.41, 4 done and 4 still to buy — 2 of them high-priority).
  • Printable pages — the same tools as print-and-write pages, an emergency contacts & shut-offs card for the fridge door (vet, poison line, water/gas/electric shut-offs, extinguisher and first-aid locations), and a 10-minute party-night & Christmas Eve final sweep.

How it works: Buy → instant download link at checkout and by email → open the spreadsheet in Excel, Google Sheets or Apple Numbers, or print the PDF pages → the yellow example rows show every total working; overwrite them with your own house and go.

Honest notes: Digital download — nothing is mailed. This kit is a general organisational aid, not professional safety, medical or veterinary advice: it helps you check and record your own house; follow manufacturer instructions and local fire-service guidance, ask your vet about specific foods and plants, ask visitors what they actually need, and call emergency services in an emergency. It deliberately contains no décor inventory, no lights-strand testing and no display planning (the Décor Tracker and the Lights & Camera Checklist own those), no guest-room stocking or empty-house lock-up (the Travel & Guest-Ready Home Kit owns those), and no leftover-food storage times (the Meal & Party Planner owns those). Figures in the worked example are illustrative. Personal use; print as many checklists as your own household needs.

Who it's for

Pet owners, families, and hosts who want a festive home that is safe and comfortable for everyone.

FAQ

When do I get it? Immediately — download link at checkout + emailed. No shipping, ever.

How is this different from the Travel & Guest-Ready Home Kit? #5 prepares a house for a trip and for overnight guests: bookings, packing, stocking the guest room with beds and towels, care for an empty house, and a lock-up checklist. This kit assumes the house is occupied and full: it audits hazards (tree, candles, heaters, alarms, cords), guards pets against December hazards, and safety-proofs rooms for visiting children, elderly guests and a guest with an allergy. Different job, different sheets — #5 stocks the room; this kit makes it safe.

Doesn't the Décor Tracker already do the lights? #8 tests whether light strands work (working vs. failed, replacement cost) and inventories decorations. This kit keeps no décor inventory and tests no strands: its single electrical row is a hazard check — is a lead run through a door, under a rug, daisy-chained — recorded as fixed or not, not as a strand count.

Is this safety advice? No — it is a checklist and tracker. It tells you what to check and records what you found; what "safe" requires in your house follows manufacturer instructions, local fire-service guidance, your vet (for pets) and your visitors' own stated needs. In an emergency, call emergency services, not a spreadsheet.

We have no pets. Is half the kit useless? No — the pet sheet is one of four, and the audit, guest-prep and fix-list sheets are the core of the kit. Households with pets get the full value; households without get a complete home and guest safety planner.

What do I need? A printer for the checklists and emergency card and Excel, Google Sheets (free) or Numbers for the spreadsheet. The printable pages work on their own.

Refunds? Digital download — if a file won't open or a formula misbehaves, contact the store first and we'll fix or refund.
